Pilot episode waste no time throwing us right back into the beautiful, sprawling web of urban legends, gang warfare, and everyday insanity that make the original series really good. The anime manages to feel like a warm, cozy reunion while simultaneously injecting a fresh dose of mystery and adrenaline. Ikebukuro is just as chaotic, weird, and addictive as I last saw it.
