Gohan just wants to do what's right and help everyone on Namek, so seeing Chi Chi go full-on rage mode on him really got to me. I mean, it's totally unfair that she's holding him back when he's a super powerful kid with a good heart and the universe is practically at stake.

The way Goku tested Gohan in the hospital was a bit much but it proves the kid is ready for whatever is waiting in space

I really enjoyed seeing the gang get ready for the trip, but man the ending has me worried about what comes next and it feels like the momentum just hit a brick wall because everyone says the next few episodes are just filler and Bulma being totally stressed while fixing the ship really showed how much pressure she is under

Bulma figuring out how to reprogram that old space vessel shows why the team needs her brains even when they are just flying around

Bulma finding that ship at Yunzabit Heights was huge, and even without any beam struggles, the tension of getting to Namek is starting to build up.

You can tell the show is slowing down before the big space journey and while the hospital scenes are a bit long they really ground the aftermath of the battle

I did not expect to see Mr Popo and Bulma hanging out in the mountains and it was cool to see them uncover that hidden ship together

It is a slow episode but watching Bulma use her brain to figure out the controls on Kami's old ship reminds you why she is the smartest person around

I felt bad for Gohan and Krillin stuck in the hospital and even though the pacing is dragging a bit their drive to bring everyone back is what keeps me interested

The reveal of the old spaceship hidden away in the mountains is exactly what they needed and it makes the whole trip to Namek feel like it is actually happening finally

I forgot how much of a mess Goku was after the fight with Vegeta and seeing him stuck in that hospital bed while everyone else prepares for Namek is actually kind of sad and it is cool that Bulma is taking charge with the spaceship search because she usually gets sidelined and Mr Popo helping her out in the mountains was a neat change of pace

Watching the guys all wrapped up in bandages and totally broken after that Vegeta fight is a rough way to start the next trip but the consequences feel real now

You see Bulma really step up and find that old ship with Mr Popo and it makes sense how important she is without even needing to fight

The build up to the trip to Namek is exciting even if it is just Bulma and Krillin and Gohan going. They are the only ones left who can actually do anything

It was great seeing the group recover, but Chi-Chi was definitely frustrating to watch this time. She only cares about Gohan studying when the namekian dragon balls are their only hope of bringing everyone back to life. Gohan finally snapping and shouting at her to let him go was a massive relief, because he needs to fix things for Piccolo

That hospital scene where Goku tries to hit Gohan and Gohan blocks him was simple but effective. It really proves that the fight with the saiyans changed Gohan for the better

Watching Goku acknowledge Gohan as a warrior in that hospital room made me emotional. I loved seeing Gohan refuse to let his mom hold him back from saving his best friend Piccolo

Gohan training in the hospital was a nice touch and it really shows how much he wants to get stronger for Piccolo. He is not that scared little kid anymore

Mr Popo showing up with that old spaceship was a weird twist but it works. Bulma and Krillin are brave for going into space with only a kid to protect them

I can't believe how much Gohan has changed since the start, especially when he told his mom he's going to Namek no matter what. It was a massive moment, and he really stood his ground against her

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 38 of 291, 'Nursing Wounds' falls in the critical transition period between the Saiyan saga's conclusion and the Namek saga's launch. The previous episodes dealt with the devastating battle against the Saiyans and the discovery of an alternative spaceship, while this episode shifts focus to healing and preparation for the journey to Namek. It directly sets the foundation for the upcoming Namek expedition, where the search for the Dragon Balls will drive the next major arc.
