They are really dragging out this fusion training. We spent half the time watching them mess up the fingers and it slowed everything down

Episode Context

Sitting at episode 251 of 291, this falls squarely in the Buu Saga's middle stretch where the Z Fighters are scrambling for answers after devastating losses, and the Fusion strategy represents one of their last viable plays. Previous episodes built toward this moment through Goten and Trunks's grueling Fusion training under Piccolo's watch, while the threat of Majin Buu continues to escalate unchecked. This episode sets the stage for Gotenks to become a central combatant in the battles ahead, raising the question of whether this young fused warrior can actually deliver against a seemingly unstoppable enemy.
