The whole atmosphere of the show changed the second that sword snapped in half. I really thought Gohan was going to be a swordsman for a bit, but finding out an old pervert was stuck in there for millions of years is such a classic Dragon Ball twist. Goku trying to bribe him with a kiss from Bulma was definitely a choice though.
