Vegeta hugging Trunks for the first time before blowing himself up was actually devastating and you could tell he finally changed his ways

The Prince of all Saiyans actually caring about something other than his own ego is such a massive change. His face when he sees Trunks and Goten is just heartbreaking

The atmosphere in this episode is so heavy because Goku is out of the picture. You can tell Vegeta is carrying the weight of the entire world on his shoulders alone

That Final Impact looked like it was going to end the fight for a second, but then Buu just filled the gap in his stomach and started laughing like nothing even happened

I am sitting here wondering how anyone is supposed to kill a guy who can just grow back from a pile of pink mush and it makes my heart sink for Vegeta because he is clearly giving every single thing he has left and it still feels like he is trying to punch a brick wall that heals itself

Everything is on Vegeta now since Goku is knocked out. You can tell he knows this might be the end for him based on how he is acting with Trunks

Babidi is so annoying with his constant yelling and threats. Watching Buu basically ignore him while he shrugs off a hole in his chest is genuinely terrifying

Vegeta thinking Gohan is dead actually makes his stand against Buu feel so much more desperate, and I honestly felt for him when he realized he is the only one left to stop this monster

Trunks jumping in to save his dad when Buu was strangling him was such a gut punch. Seeing those kids rush into that nightmare was so heavy

I really loved hearing Piccolo say that Vegeta is even stronger than Gohan was against Cell. The way he fights for the planet instead of himself feels huge

Buu is actually a cheat code because Vegeta keeps landing these massive hits and he just pops right back into one piece and it is so stressful to watch

The sheer desperation in this episode is crazy and Vegeta deciding to go out on his own terms is the only way he could ever find peace

Vegeta finally putting his family above his own pride is the best development, even if it means he has to make the ultimate sacrifice to save everyone from Buu

Watching the kids rush into the middle of that nightmare to help their dad was the most intense part and it shows how much they care

That Final Impact looked like it would end any other villain but Buu just dancing around after is terrifying and makes you wonder if anyone can actually kill him

I honestly can't believe how much Vegeta has grown since the Namek days, because seeing him look at Trunks with that expression really got to me. He knows he can't win this fight normally since Buu just heals from every single blast, and it feels like everything is falling apart while Goku is still nowhere to be found

Trunks and Goten jumping in to save Vegeta was so gut wrenching and you can tell Vegeta is finally changing because of how he looks at them

EPISODE CONTEXT

At episode 236 of 291, the series is firmly entrenched in the Buu Saga's middle chapters, where alliances shift and desperation mounts as Majin Buu's threat intensifies beyond anyone's expectations. Previous episodes have established the devastating scope of Buu's power and forced Earth's warriors into increasingly dire positions. This episode's focus on a critical warrior's resolve sets the stage for the saga's next major confrontation and the dramatic power shifts that define the Buu arc's back half.
