Episode Context

Episode 23 sits in the heart of the Saiyan Saga's battle phase, directly following the Saiyans' arrival on Earth and the Z Fighters assembling to confront them. These initial skirmishes against the Saibamen serve as a critical proving ground for the supporting cast and establish the brutal tone of what's to come. The real threat, Vegeta and Nappa themselves, still looms, making this episode a tense prelude to the saga's most devastating confrontations.
