babidi tried to order him around but vegeta just ignored him to talk about his pride and it was the coolest thing he has done in ages

I can't believe Vegeta actually blasted those people in the stands just to get Goku to fight him and he is back to being a true villain

Vegeta basically told Babidi to shut up because he only takes orders from himself and that was the most Vegeta thing he has ever done in this entire series

That electricity flickering around Vegeta in his Majin form looked incredible and it makes the gap between him and the others feel terrifyingly huge right now

Watching Vegeta struggle against the mind control and insist that his only goal is Kakarot really shows that even Babidi cannot break his royal Saiyan will

I was not expecting Goku to threaten a literal god just to settle a grudge with Vegeta and the tension in that scene was almost too much to handle

Vegeta's line about it not being slavery if he gets what he wants is so dark, especially with all the lightning from his new Super Saiyan 2 form

Goku pointing that blast at the Supreme Kai was the most shocking part of the whole episode because it showed how much he actually wanted this fight with Vegeta too

My stomach turned when Vegeta killed those innocent people at the tournament but seeing him finally achieve Super Saiyan 2 and stand up to Goku made for such a heavy moment

Vegeta really chose to become a monster again just because he couldn't handle living a normal life on Earth, and he felt like he was getting soft. That speech about his pride is easily one of the best moments in the show because it explains his complex so well. Seeing him finally hit Super Saiyan 2 was worth the wait too

I still get chills when Vegeta tells Babidi that he only cares about fighting Kakarot and completely ignores the order to kill the Supreme Kai because his pride is just that massive

Vegeta blowing up the stadium stands just to get Goku to fight him was actually insane and he really went back to being a villain like that

This episode was such a heavy look at what happens when someone cannot let go of the past. Vegeta spent years trying to be a family man but that obsession with Goku never went away. Watching him throw it all away and murder those people at the tournament was brutal and Goku threatening the Supreme Kai just made the tension even higher

Vegeta standing his ground against the Supreme Kai was intense, especially since he values his own pride way more than the safety of the entire universe

I felt the weight of every word when Vegeta ranted about his stolen honor. He has been holding onto that resentment for so long and it finally boiled over today

Goku actually giving in to the fight after all that chaos was intense. He realized there was no talking sense into him anymore

Vegeta ignoring Babidi while keeping the mark showed that he was never actually a puppet, since he just used that magic to get what he wanted and reclaim his edge

Seeing the sparks on the Super Saiyan 2 transformation was incredible. Vegeta finally looks like he has the power he always wanted even if the cost was his own soul

My chest tightened when Vegeta talked about how Earth made him soft and how he hated having a family. It is tragic that he feels like he needs to be a monster

Goku pointing his energy at the Supreme Kai was such a shock. He knew Vegeta was not going to stop and he just wanted to settle the score once and for all

EPISODE CONTEXT

Landing at episode 229 of 291, this falls squarely in the Buu Saga's most critical stretch, where alliances fracture and characters are forced into defining choices. The episodes leading up to this have been layering Vegeta's growing frustration and inner turmoil, and 'Vegeta's Pride' serves as the dramatic payoff to that buildup. What unfolds here directly shapes the trajectory of the saga's most pivotal conflicts and character dynamics moving forward.
