I loved that Goku just went to New Namek to solve the Dragon Ball problem since it shows how much he has grown as a leader

Episode Context

Sitting at episode 172 of 291, this falls deep within the Cell Saga, during the critical preparation phase before the Cell Games. The previous stretch of episodes dealt with the fallout of Cell achieving his perfect form and the Z Fighters scrambling for a power-up strategy, making the question of Earth's Guardian directly relevant to whether the Dragon Balls, and by extension any hope of reversing catastrophic losses, remain viable. This episode sets the foundation for the spiritual and logistical infrastructure the heroes will desperately need as the saga hurtles toward its climax.
