Episode Context

Episode 17 sits deep in the Saiyan Saga's preparation phase, following Gohan's survival trials and running parallel to Goku's journey along Snake Way. It bridges the gap between early training arcs and the fast-approaching Saiyan arrival, giving the supporting cast their moment to measure up against the coming danger. This episode directly sets the emotional foundation for the desperation these warriors will carry into the battle against Vegeta and Nappa.
