Krillin is actually insane for trying to stall Cell alone like that because we all saw how that monster just melts people into husks and it is actually terrifying to watch

Episode Context

Sitting roughly at the midpoint of Dragon Ball Z's full run, episode 146 lands squarely in the Cell saga's escalation phase, directly following the discoveries made in 'Laboratory Basement' that revealed the full scope of the android threat. This episode serves as a critical bridge, the protagonists regroup and commit to a new strategy after being outpaced by Cell's evolution. It sets the stage for the iconic 'Time Chamber' training arc, where Goku, Vegeta, and others push beyond their limits in preparation for the decisive battles ahead.
