I still feel gross after seeing that tiny baby Cell floating in the tank and it felt great when Krillin and Trunks finally blew that whole basement to pieces

Those blueprints for Android 17 were huge because the guys really need some kind of advantage after watching Cell just melt everyone in Nicky Town

My skin was crawling when Cell was absorbing that guy in the street and I just want Goku to wake up and help already

It is so confusing how destroying the baby Cell doesnt fix the one eating people right now but Trunks looked so cool helping Krillin wreck the lab

I am still thinking about that weird larval Cell in the tank because it looked like a giant shrimp or something and it was kind of creepy to see. Even though there is a version of him already out there killing people, I think Trunks did the right thing by destroying the lab. Watching him and Krillin finally get a win by finding those blueprints felt great.

Vegeta acting like a jerk about letting Cell transform is so typical, but it makes the tension so much worse. At least someone found the android blueprints to give them a fighting chance.

Krillin understands the time travel stuff better than half the fans do and he and Trunks made a solid team while the Saiyans are off being reckless

You can really see how much of a genius Dr Gero was even if he was a monster and seeing that lab hidden under the floor was cool and those blueprints are a game changer

The basement scene felt like a horror movie with that bug thing floating in the tank and Trunks was right to just vaporize the whole room and start over

Bulma getting those schematics is the biggest win of the day and the androids seem impossible to beat so finding a weakness on paper is a smart move

I think Krillin and Trunks made a good team finding those blueprints and it feels like the humans are finally helping for once

Seeing Frieza DNA in the mix for Cell explains why he is such a creep and that larval form in the incubator was haunting and it was good they blasted it

Vegeta is actually insane for wanting to let the monster reach his final form just for a fight and he never learns and his pride is going to get everyone killed

I saw that tiny shrimp thing in the tube and it was so gross and Krillin and Trunks actually did something useful by blowing that basement up and getting those papers for Bulma

you have to wonder if destroying the baby version of cell is enough when the grown one is still out there eating towns

it is wild that vegeta is just walking away to train because he wants cell to reach his perfect form just so he can have a harder fight, and trunks is clearly the only one with any common sense because blowing up that underground lab was the smartest thing anyone has done in weeks even if the main cell is still out there

knowing goku is finally on the mend and sitting up made me feel like things might turn around

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the escalation of Cell's escape in the previous episode, 'Laboratory Basement' pivots from panic to purpose as the Z Fighters shift into intelligence-gathering mode. Sitting roughly at the halfway mark of DBZ's full run, this episode bridges the chaos of Cell's emergence with the preparation phase leading into 'Our Hero Awakes,' where the focus transitions toward readying for the inevitable showdown. It's a critical connective episode that trades momentum for setup, ensuring the stakes land harder when the action resumes.
