Episode Context

Falling deep within the anime-original Garlic Jr. Saga, this episode follows 'Extreme Measures,' where the Z Fighters hit significant roadblocks in their battle. 'The World Awakens' escalates the conflict to a critical turning point, directly setting up the next episode, 'Brief Chance for Victory,' where the showdown approaches its climax. As a filler arc bridging the Frieza and Android sagas, this stretch is entirely skippable for manga-only viewers but serves as additional character showcase material for Gohan and the supporting cast.
