Episode Context

Positioned at episode 42 of 61, this falls deep into the Buu Saga's climactic stretch, directly following Gotenks' dramatic Super Saiyan 3 transformation. The episode serves as the final showcase for Gotenks' power against Super Buu before the narrative pivots significantly, the very next episode introduces a powered-up Gohan into the conflict, fundamentally shifting the dynamic of the battle.
