Episode Context

Coming off Goku's urgent efforts to teach Goten and Trunks the Fusion technique during his limited time on Earth, this episode closes that chapter definitively as he returns to the afterlife. It serves as a crucial handoff point in the Buu Saga. Piccolo inherits the training mission on Earth while the narrative branches toward Gohan's development in the Realm of the Kais. At episode 31 of 61, this is the season's true midpoint pivot, shifting from Goku-led strategy to a multi-front preparation arc.
