Episode Context

Sitting roughly a third of the way through the 61-episode Final Chapters run, Episode 19 marks the definitive end of the buildup phase and the arrival of the saga's central threat. The preceding episodes established Gohan's desperate attempts to avert catastrophe and Supreme Kai's warnings, this episode delivers the payoff of that tension. Everything from here forward shifts into survival mode, setting the stage for the next stretch of episodes to explore just how dangerous this new adversary truly is.
