Episode Context

Roughly a third of the way through The Final Chapters, this episode marks a critical inflection point in the Buu Saga, the aftermath of Goku and Vegeta's clash has left the heroes vulnerable, and the consequences of that conflict are now crashing down. Gohan's resistance here bridges the buildup phase with the saga's next, more dangerous chapter, setting up the full emergence of the threat the heroes have been desperately trying to prevent.
