Episode Context

Directly following Goku's fateful proposal of a multiverse tournament to Zeno, this episode delivers the devastating payoff to that decision, the rules that will define the entire Tournament of Power saga ahead. It bridges the gap between the tournament's inception and the Zen Exhibition Match against Universe 9, effectively transitioning Dragon Ball Super from buildup into its most ambitious and consequential arc spanning roughly the final fifty episodes of the series.
