Episode Context

Sitting at episode 40 of 131, this marks the climax of the Universe 6 vs. Universe 7 tournament arc, which has been building since the mid-30s with escalating matchups and the introduction of powerful new fighters like Hit, Cabba, and Frost. The preceding episodes established the rules, rivalries, and power dynamics between the two universes, and this episode serves as the definitive resolution to that tension. Its aftermath will transition Dragon Ball Super into new storylines, planting seeds for the even larger multiversal conflicts that define the series going forward.
