This is Dragon ball, not other anime/mangas that focus primarily on story telling. This entire show is just about kicking ass, and that's all it's ever been about. Dragon Ball Z had the most predictable story arcs of any story i've ever seen, but still it's enjoyable, i love it.

Episode Context

This is the second-to-last episode of the entire series and the true climax of the Tournament of Power, arriving immediately after Goku's completed mastery of Ultra Instinct shook the multiverse in episode 129. The Goku-versus-Jiren confrontation that has been escalating across dozens of episodes reaches its zenith here, leaving only the finale to resolve the tournament's outcome and its consequences for Universe 7.
