Episode Context

Sitting deep in the Battle of Gods arc that opens Dragon Ball Super, episode 13 represents the penultimate stretch of Goku's confrontation with Beerus, the fight that defines the series' power ceiling going forward. Previous episodes built the tension through Goku's godly transformation and universe-shaking exchanges, and this installment pushes that momentum toward the arc's imminent resolution. It directly sets up the conclusion of this opening saga while establishing power dynamics that will ripple through the remaining 118 episodes.
