EPISODE REVIEWS

More planning and dialogue than action. Important setup, but not very exciting.

It’s funny and troublesome how theft is treated as the payback time. The pacing is steady, as if they’re patching plot holes to push toward the main event.

Episode Context

Coming off the hard-fought Tamagami Number 3 victory in Episode 8, this ninth installment serves as a transitional chapter at the season's near-midpoint, letting the group regroup while reinforcing that the Demon Realm remains hostile territory at every turn. It deepens the bonds between Goku, Panzy, and Glorio while introducing new threats and keeping the shadow of Gomah and Degesu looming. The groundwork laid here positions the crew for escalating confrontations as their hunt for the Demon Realm's Dragon Balls intensifies in the back half of the season.
