Damnn the ending was so unexpected! We were introduced to robo-senku in this episode who I (admittedly) thought would be a one-time appearance/occurrence. Watching the main trio cooking something up was so hopeful, they tried to resolve a situation that felt really bleak!

So much groundwork for later events in the series were laid out and dissected. They really could've done more with Tsukasa's twisted standpoint, since I could very honestly agree with him on some parts. It felt a little unnecessary to kill random people to push his viewpoint tho

SO many things happened in this episode, it feels like rapid fire. The pacing was a little hard to get used to at first, but it really emphasizes the little time Taiju, Senku and Yuzuriha had to prepare for Tsukasa's arrival. The ending feels inevitable, but still shocking.

Tsukasa fully committing to his ideology by destroying the stone statues was chilling. The stakes feel real now and Senku's escape into the wilderness marks the start of an incredible survival arc.

Senku and his friends are on a tight schedule; they are making a weapon that can stop Tsukasa's rampage, in killing the adults who have been petrified in the new world that they are living in right now.

Senku’s playing with fire, literally. He needs a weapon to stop Tsukasa’s brute force. The mix of casual banter and high-stakes science is peak. They’re making explosives in a forest. One wrong move and boom. No more Kingdom of Science.

Episode 4 focuses more on Senku's creativity as he works on creating fire and using smoke as a signal to find other survivors. I liked how the episode shows small scientific steps feeling like big achievements in this new stone world.

This episode feels like planting seeds. Not flashy. Just groundwork. Senku thinking long term while everyone else is focused on now is kind of inspiring. You start to realize this isn’t just about surviving. It’s about rebuilding everything.

Sunny forest days in the village? Aesthetic on point. Animation on the green trees and light filtering through leaves gorgeous. Atmosphere peaceful but full of potential. Made the stone world feel alive and ready for rebuilding.

Episode 4 focuses on preparation as Senku develops gunpowder to counter Tsukasa’s strength. The tension builds as strategy replaces brute force, and you can feel the coming ideological clash getting closer.

So Senku has been a science addict since he was a kid? Tsukasa shouldn't have expected him to give up science just because his life was threatened! I don't believe Senku is dead for a second—he’s got that main character plot armor protecting him. Science never dies!

This episode hit different. Senku's backstory actually made me tear up ngl, But that ending though...... Animation during the emotional scenes was top tier.

I can't stress enough, this anime is crazy. The whole concept of it.
Senkuu tried to play the cliche emotionless scientific genius and he failed. His feelings betrayed him. And I thought it was fantastic. That was a pure moment of how weak humans can be.

Senku surviving with pure science is peak 10-billion IQ energy. The petrification twist was genius, and the smoke signal felt like a straight-up declaration of war.

Super cinematic! Lighting and smoke effects are a masterstroke in art direction, showing both danger and hope. A beautiful visual take on survival.

A steady and engaging episode that focuses on expanding the world and clarifying the group’s direction. The pacing allows the characters’ motivations and roles to take shape, while continuing to build the survival-driven foundation of the story in a thoughtful way.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Following Episode 3's establishment of science as a tool for survival, Episode 4 escalates the central conflict with Tsukasa into something that can no longer be avoided or negotiated around. This is a critical early-season pivot point—only four episodes in out of twenty-four—that transforms the show from a survival adventure into a deeper ideological war. It lays essential groundwork for the strategic chess match between Senku and Tsukasa that will define much of the season's trajectory going forward.
