This anime offers a stable, optimistic continuation of Senku's ambitious plans, providing a satisfying, collaborative post-war payoff.

📖 SYNOPSIS

After spending over 3,700 years turned to stone, science genius Senku Ishigami woke up in a world where every human has been petrified. Now, several seasons into his quest to rebuild civilization from scratch, he's finally ready to cross the ocean and track down whatever caused the petrification in the first place. Dr. Stone: New World picks up with the crew building out their ship, reviving specialists they need for the voyage — a chef for food, a sailor in Ryuusui Nanami for navigation — and literally reinventing GPS from the ground up. Then an ominous message arrives that changes the whole vibe of the expedition.

What makes this show work is how specific it gets. Senku doesn't just "do science" in some vague hand-wavy way. The series walks through actual chemistry, engineering, and problem-solving, and somehow makes it genuinely entertaining instead of feeling like a lecture. The comedy lands because the characters are distinct and play off each other well — Senku's deadpan rationality bouncing against Ryuusui's over-the-top confidence never gets old.

This 11-episode TV series from TMS Entertainment adapts the manga's exploration arc, and it moves with real momentum. If you liked the tension and mystery of The Promised Neverland or the inventive problem-solving in Steins;Gate, this scratches a similar itch. And if Made in Abyss hooked you with the idea of venturing into dangerous unknown territory, Dr. Stone offers that same pull — just with more beakers and fewer curses.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You loved Seasons 1–2 and want to see the crew finally set sail across the ocean
Science-driven problem solving gets you hyped — Senku's GPS reinvention is peak Dr. Stone
Ryuusui's introduction in the OVA hooked you and you want more of his bold personality
You prefer shorter seasons — 11 episodes keeps things tight before the second cour drops

❌ SKIP IF...

You need airtight logic — convenient coincidences prop up the plot a bit too often here
TMS Entertainment's character designs feel off to you — the backgrounds outshine the figures
You'd rather binge the full arc — this 11-episode cour ends mid-story without resolution
