Caiman drifts in a dream of counting gyoza, a mundane distraction from deeper anxieties. He awakens, his hunger a familiar discomfort, yet his thoughts drift to the enigma within him. Even in sleep, the man in his mouth haunts his peace, a constant reminder of his fragmented identity. This opening establishes the central mystery of the protagonist.

Outside his inn, Caiman spots two sorcerers, Fujita and his partner, attempting to use a vending machine. He recognizes their gear and their Cross-Eyes markings immediately. Without hesitation, he confronts them, claiming an association with Risu, a name that visibly shakes Fujita. This sudden confrontation sets a dangerous precedent.

En lies pale and weakened in his mushroom-filled bed, his recent struggles evident. Shin and Noi attend to him, revealing the devastating news that the Ebisu they retrieved was a magical doppelgänger. En's anger, a force of nature, begins to simmer, then boils over as he mounts his mushroom-themed motorcycle. He declares his contract with Nikaido will guide him and blasts off, intent on personal retribution.

In a darkened alley, Caiman and Nikaido are about to engage members of the Cross-Eyes gang when the very ground beneath them erupts. Giant, vibrant mushrooms pierce through concrete and structures, obliterating the environment in moments. Dokuga of the Cross-Eyes immediately recognizes the magic, understanding the terrifying implication: En has arrived in the Hole. Caiman hoists a struggling Nikaido onto his back, navigating the crumbling, spore-filled corridors. Every exit is blocked, the pervasive magic slowly trapping them.

Cornered in a vast hall choked with fungal webbing and thick, magical fog, Caiman gently places Nikaido down. He draws his knives, his reptilian eyes scanning the shifting shadows, preparing for the inevitable. En descends from a colossal mushroom cap, his gaze dismissive of Caiman, addressing only Nikaido. En commands her return, completely disregarding Caiman's presence. Infuriated, Caiman lunges, but his attack is futile. En coolly explains that Caiman's lungs are already filled with spores, and grotesque mushrooms erupt from Caiman's body, signaling a gruesome internal defeat.

Elsewhere in the ravaged building, Fujita watches in horror as the fake Ebisu mutates into a monstrous, mindless entity. He is forced to defend himself against the grotesque form of his former companion, a deeply traumatic experience. Meanwhile, Shin, Noi, and Fujita regroup at the edge of the destruction zone, observing the pulsating, magical devastation. Fujita weeps openly, overwhelmed by the chaos, while Noi's gaze remains fixed on the heart of En's power, acknowledging the devastating impact of their leader's rage.

Caiman collapses, his body violently tearing apart as the mushrooms grow uncontrollably from within. His reptilian skin, the only identity he has known, begins to crack and peel away from his skull. Beneath, a different, human face starts to emerge, a harrowing glimpse into his hidden past. En, witnessing this gruesome transformation, decides to end it. He unleashes a colossal mushroom explosion, leveling the entire area and filling the air with toxic spores. Nikaido's final, desperate scream of Caiman's name is swallowed by the blinding, destructive force.

A stark title card appears, proclaiming "-Sayonara Caiman-", marking an abrupt and chilling end to the protagonist's journey. In the aftermath, Nikaido is seen unconscious, being carried away by En's minions through the smoking ruins. En surveys the devastation with an air of cold, unyielding victory, having retrieved his "partner." The En Family departs, leaving behind a landscape of utter destruction, a testament to their power and the cost of defiance.

Shin and Noi descend into a deep crater, surveying the cooling lava and debris left by En's explosion. Shin reaches into the wreckage and retrieves a charred, severed reptilian head—all that remains of the lizard-man. They conclude Caiman is dead, his fate sealed by En's wrath. This grim discovery seemingly closes the book on Caiman's story, confirming the En Family's success.

A flashback begins, immersing us in the earlier days of the Cross-Eyes gang. Natsuki, vibrant and young, queries Dokuga about their mysterious leader. Dokuga explains that the Boss, known as Kasu, is an unparalleled entity whose past remains shrouded. We then see young Dokuga and his non-magic-using friends cornered by cruel sorcerers in a rain-slicked alley, facing certain death. Just as the final blow looms, a dark, terrifying shadow descends. The Boss appears, moving with impossible speed, tearing the sorcerers to pieces. Dokuga and his friends watch in awe and horror as their tormentors are slaughtered. The Boss reveals himself as a 'Curse,' an entity of pure malice that consumes magic. He vanishes into the darkness, leaving a trail of blood, but the young gang, witnessing such power, decides then and there to follow him, seeing him as their only salvation.

Back in the present, Natsuki wanders the devastated streets of the Hole, her voice frantic as she calls out for her 'Brother'. Her displacement amidst the ruins, especially near the surprisingly intact Hungry Bug, paints a picture of loss and searching. In a quiet, misty part of the woods, a mass of fungal remains twitches. A headless, dark-skinned body slowly regenerates, standing with stiff, almost robotic movements. It begins to walk towards the city with an unnerving, primal focus, passing terrified residents who shrink back into the shadows.

Inside the Hungry Bug, Nikaido listlessly prepares gyoza, visibly grieving Caiman's supposed death. She hears a sound from the back, turning to see a figure emerge from the shadows, wearing a gas mask. It is a regenerated Caiman, silent and unmoving. This 'new' Caiman retrieves a stained, heavy bag from a shelf. He opens it to reveal a severed human head, marred with cross-shaped scars over its eyes. Touching the head, Caiman experiences a violent surge of memory: flashes of the Boss's final moments, a betrayal in a dark void, and a man falling into the Hole. He realizes his own reptilian transformation and his very existence are inextricably bound to this severed head and its grim history.
