Awakening and a Glimpse of the Past
The episode opens with a disoriented Kaiman in a grimy bathtub, a moth landing gently on his skin, a moment of fragile calm in an otherwise unsettling world. He speaks in a groggy voice, asking about Risu, his concern immediate. When Aikawa enters, Kaiman's questions quickly turn to the identity of Risu's killer, a clear driving force for his actions. The discovery of a paper airplane, a message from Kento, adds another layer to the mystery that already surrounds Kaiman.
Nikaido's Furious Escape
Bound and gagged, Nikaido is brought before a masked 'Boss' by Ushishimada, who speaks of 'black powder' and weakened organizations. The aroma of ravioli, however, shatters her composure, igniting a primal fury. She breaks her restraints with startling force, brutally attacking her captor, smashing his face against the wall. The chaos escalates when Bokkus, a seemingly bandaged man, transforms into a grotesque, giant monster with a gaping maw for a stomach, a truly horrific sight.
Shin's Grim Resolve
Shin bursts onto the scene, covered in blood, utterly horrified by Bokkus's monstrous form. He quickly realizes the cause is a giantization potion, launching himself at the giant creature with desperate ferocity, stabbing it from within. After defeating the monster, he carries an unconscious Nikaido from the burning, collapsing building, his face stained with tears and dirt. He looks up at a silhouetted demon figure, the devastation complete.
A Demon's Apology
Amidst tranquil greenery, a battered Aizu awakens to the towering presence of En, the primary antagonist, now a demon. En acknowledges their shared past, expressing regret for the harm he inflicted on Aizu and for his transformation into a demon. Aizu, surprisingly calm, accepts a small golden object from En, appearing genuinely glad to find him alive. They share a quiet moment overlooking the forest, under the full moon.
Mastema: A New Labyrinth
Kaiman and Nikaido emerge from a subway station into Mastema, a city of towering mushrooms and perpetual twilight. Nikaido explains this is where En fought the Cross-Eye Boss six years prior, a place steeped in dark history. Kaiman, wearing a maid's apron, grumbles about the desolate streets and their empty pockets, foreshadowing their need for desperate measures. The city, though strange, feels strangely familiar to Kaiman.
Maki's Twisted Deal
As they navigate Mastema, Nikaido senses they are being followed. Meanwhile, Natsuki, a seemingly friendly newcomer, tries to guide them through the shops. However, her boss, Maki, quickly reveals his sinister intent. He plans to profit from the scarcity of black powder, which he now controls, callously dismissing Natsuki's pleas regarding the powder's use to help non-magic users. Maki violently attacks Natsuki when she defies him, showing his true, ruthless colors.
The Black Powder's Promise
Nikaido reappears, clad in a new green jacket, radiating a new, assertive confidence. She proudly presents Kaiman with a bag of black powder, explaining its incredible power to allow anyone to use smoke, essentially transforming non-magic users into sorcerers. Kaiman looks at her in awe, intrigued by the possibility this powder offers for his own quest.
Kaiman's Haunting Memory
Kaiman is seen being pulled through the air by a flying machine, his focus drawn to a grotesque, giant, half-decayed head lodged in the ground. He recognizes it as Kento, recalling that Kento was giantized by magic purchased in the Hole. This vivid, disturbing image serves as a potent reminder of the dangers of magic and the destructive forces at play.
The Torrent of Grief and Resolve
Kaiman is overcome by a torrent of raw emotion. Flashbacks show him in a hospital bed, remembering Kasukabe and the doll-like form of Kento, which eventually melted in a fire. He struggles through moments of profound sadness, tears streaming down his face, interspersed with anger and fierce determination. His internal battle is visible, leading to a grim, chilling resolve as his eyes glow and the Cross-Eye symbol pulsates, signifying a deep, perhaps dark, transformation in his pursuit of truth.
Nikaido's Uncertain Fate
The episode concludes with a somber, ambiguous scene. Nikaido lies injured and bleeding on the floor of a grand, gothic hall, bathed in shifting, eerie lights. As she attempts to rise, she collapses, her strength failing. In the doorway, silhouetted against the changing light, stands En, observing her. His presence leaves Nikaido's fate uncertain, hinting at a renewed connection, or perhaps a darker subjugation, to the powerful sorcerer.
EPISODE REVIEWS

This episode spends more time expanding the world. Every scene felt like it was building toward something bigger.

Un episodio con varios saltos entre tramas, pero que se sigue bien. Además de darnos mucho contexto de esas subtramas.

The dynamic tandem of Shin and Noi has been so good since the last season! The visuals and the animations improve a lot! The fighting scenes are always on point! The humor and the jokes are still intact!
