And here we are at Adrastea, the center of the calamity that happened at Easter Island. It's mostly another flashback episode, but it's here that everything is revealed to us. From the experiments run in Adrastea, Loser's tragic past, and Kyoma's role in the battle, it gives us a clear understand of what really happened. The flashback sequences in this episode are definitely the most horrifying and emotionally heavy in the series by far. The final scene is also a doozy, all set up for the final battle. I'm ready for it!
Shocking memory revelations shift the visual tone into a thrilling psychological sequence. The graphics feature a heavy, dream-like light filter that blends Kyoma's suppressed memories of his late wife Miyabi with the current collapsing reality. The artistic transition between mechanical structures and organic memories is executed beautifully.
