sad background this time, but at the same the fight was great, tanjiro looks to have everything to fall, specially when i realize that the enemy is one of the twelve demons moons, is many for him, but i like to see how the story could manage to finish this epic battle, i'll trust in the script

What a twist at the beginning. The action scene was done by Giyu and Shinobu this time. Both showed how powerful they were. Rui’s flashback made the pace much slower. It was really the end of the spider arc in this episode. Watch if you wanted to know more about the characters’ backstories, skip if you did not like post fight moments

Giyu showing up just when Tanjiro was about to get shredded was so cool and that eleventh form move just makes the water look like a literal mirror and Rui couldnt even touch him

I thought Tanjiro finally had it but Rui cutting his own head off was such a dirty move and then Giyu showed up and made it look so easy with that 11th form thing

I was actually rooting for Tanjiro to get the win after that crazy dance last week, but seeing Giyu step in and just shut Rui down with Dead Calm was insane. It really shows how far Tanjiro still has to go to catch up to a Hashira. Also Shinobu is terrifying with that polite smile while she explains the poison

That flashback with the sister demon was actually pretty dark because she had to betray her own sibling just to stay alive under Rui and his weird obsession with family roles

Giyu showed up and showed everyone what a real Hashira looks like because that 11th form was so smooth and he didn't even break a sweat while Rui was panicking

I really felt for the sister demon because of how scared she was of Rui but Shinobu listing off all those torture methods while smiling like an angel absolutely terrified me

I honestly felt so bad for the older sister demon who got burned by the sun after being betrayed by her own family, it really shows how Rui just broke everyone on that mountain through fear and Shinobu is my favorite because her poison blade is so unique and she is just the right amount of creepy

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned directly after Episode 19's legendary 'Hinokami' sequence, widely regarded as the season's peak action moment, Episode 20 serves as a crucial cooldown and pivot point, processing the aftermath while deepening the character dynamics at play. It bridges the raw intensity of that battle into the new complications introduced in Episode 21, 'Against Corps Rules,' where the consequences of recent events catch up to the protagonists. With only six episodes remaining in the season, this is where the narrative begins tightening its threads toward resolution.
