The quiet victory shatters as Tanjiro senses a dreadful, growing stench of blood. To his horror, Rui's headless body stands, retrieving his own severed head from the ground. Rui reveals he cut his own neck just before Tanjiro's blade could connect. He mocks Tanjiro's delusion of victory, reattaching his head with threads, annoyed by the mere thought of defeat. His aura becomes truly murderous, solidifying him as a formidable villain.

Rui prepares his most lethal technique, the Murderous Eye Basket, weaving a deadly cage around the helpless Tanjiro. Just as the threads begin to close, a blur of motion appears. The Water Hashira, Giyu Tomioka, arrives with blinding speed, effortlessly slicing through every thread. He stands protectively before Tanjiro, his presence stoic and unwavering, signaling a shift in the balance of power.

Giyu Tomioka prepares his Eleventh Form, Dead Calm, explaining it as the peak of his Water Breathing style. He creates a tranquil zone, neutralizing Rui's frantic thread attacks instantly. Rui, unable to comprehend this effortless defense, loses composure and attacks in a blind rage. Giyu closes the distance, his blade moving too fast for the demon to see, and swiftly decapitates Rui for the final time. The demon's body disintegrates, ending the fight with absolute efficiency.

Elsewhere, the Spider Demon (Sister) flees through the forest, terrified by news of Rui's defeat. She realizes the Hashira are hunting, and her fragile protection is gone. A flashback shows her cornered by Slayers on a snowy night, facing certain death. Rui appears, offering her a place in his 'family' in exchange for absolute obedience, preying on her fear of death and the sun. She, desperate, accepts his terms and the grim facade that comes with it.

The Spider Demon (Sister) arrives at the mountain lair, meeting the other members of Rui's artificial family, including the 'mother' and 'father' demons. She immediately senses their terror, realizing they are all trapped in a grotesque mockery of human relationships. Any deviation from their assigned roles, she learns, will lead to brutal punishment. The sight of her new 'family,' all altered to resemble Rui, fills her with dread.

Inside a hut, the sister demon speaks to the trembling 'mother' demon, who warns of Rui's constant surveillance. Rui suddenly appears, reminding the sister that her old identity is gone, demanding full commitment to her role. He then forces a painful physical transformation, marking her face with his signature red dots. She endures the agony silently, understanding her survival depends entirely on playing her part perfectly.

At a fake family dinner, the demons pretend normalcy under Rui's watchful eye; a minor error results in a sibling being slashed. Later, an older sister demon suggests escaping together. But the protagonist, choosing self-preservation, betrays her. She leads Rui to the older sister, who is then strung up on a web and incinerated by the rising sun. This act of betrayal earns the protagonist Rui's favor and more of his power.

In the present, the sister demon encounters several Demon Slayers and decides to kill them. She ensnares Murata in a massive, sticky thread ball before he can react. She takes pleasure in his capture, explaining that her 'silk ball' contains acidic digestive fluid. Murata panics as his uniform dissolves and the acid stings, his muffled cries barely heard from within the cocoon.

A petite figure lands gracefully atop the silk ball, her butterfly-themed haori fluttering. Shinobu Kocho, the Insect Hashira, greets the sister demon with a calm, polite 'Good evening.' The demon is utterly terrified by the Hashira's immense power. Shinobu dodges the demon's acid-coated threads with elegant, butterfly-like speed, her composure unwavering as she lands silently, smiling.

Shinobu approaches the demon, speaking in a soft, melodic voice, suggesting friendship and understanding. The sister demon, confused, tries to exploit this apparent kindness, weeping and claiming she was forced into killing, a mere victim. Shinobu listens, head tilted, then politely exposes the lie, noting the dozens of human cocoons. She proposes 'atonement': gouging out eyes and pulling out organs, chillingly describing a gruesome process that would make them 'friends.'

Realizing Shinobu's kindness is a terrifying deception, the sister demon lashes out in a final, desperate rage. She unleashes a massive burst of threads, aiming to shred the Hashira. Shinobu draws her uniquely thin, needle-like katana and leaps. She executes her Insect Breathing, Butterfly Dance: Caprice, stabbing the demon multiple times with blinding speed and grace. The demon mocks Shinobu's 'tiny' blade, believing she has survived.

Shinobu lands gracefully and sheathes her katana with a sharp click, her smile unwavering. She reveals her blade is designed to inject lethal wisteria-based poison. Lacking the physical strength to decapitate demons, she mastered chemical warfare. The wisteria poison instantly takes effect, causing the sister demon's body to swell and erupt with glowing veins. She collapses in agony, her internal organs liquefying, screaming as she melts from the inside out.

Shinobu then attends to Murata, who is still trapped in the dissolving silk ball. She introduces herself formally as a Hashira, her cheerful demeanor unsettling after the brutal display. Meanwhile, Rui's body has almost completely vanished into ash, leaving only his kimono. In his final moments, he recalls his human parents and their true bond. He realizes the forced family he created was nothing compared to what he lost.

In a post-credits 'Taisho Secret' segment, Shinobu Kocho explains the intricate design of her katana and its poison-delivery system to a deeply intimidated Murata. Her cheerful explanation of lethal wisteria poisons highlights the strange dichotomy of her character.
