This episode shows never fails to show how Tanjiro can touch someone else's life by being witty, patient and understanding. Although this episode was a bit slow, I felt it needed that to understand the character's backstory as well as the aftermath of losing a friend.

The episode starts , the hashiras start off with their tranining , preparations , For some reason Giyuu our water hashira starts behaving oddly and is not in agreement with the other hashiras and disagrees to train them . Theres definitely a back story to it?

Slow burn and if you are Mr. Giyu's fan you will love the episode. Good background music with good graphics.

This one's a slow burn but it pays off if you care about the characters. Giyu finally cracks and we get a backstory. Animation's solid where it matters. Slow but worth it for Giyu fans. If you wanted action this ain't it.

This episode drills into discipline and expectation. Training isn’t flashy—it’s punishing and precise. You feel the gap between effort and mastery, and it makes the road ahead feel earned rather than convenient.

There was something that seemed to connect the quiet moments shared by Giyu and Shinobu. I also appreciated the way they made the sound of the falling water fit the gloomy mood. It made me admire the suffering and the development the Hashiras are experiencing.

The training begins to feel real as Tanjiro faces the strict and intense methods of the Hashira. There’s a mix of light humor and tough discipline, but underneath it all, the urgency is clear. It’s character-focused, grounded, and steadily building toward something bigger.

This episode leans more into personality and dynamics. The focus in this episode shifts from general training to deep dive into Giyu's past. It's more about understanding strength, discipline, and mindset.

this episode toggles with the reason why the water hashira (giyu tomioka) feels alienated from the other hashira or the other demon corps member.
backstory doesn't really interest me but this time is a good one to watch

Tanjiro spends the episode being the ultimate "pester-friend" to Giyu. Imagine trying to be edgy and alone, but a boy with the sun on his forehead won't stop offering you chilled noodles. We finally see the soft side of our favorite emo swordsman.

Demon Slayer's Hashira Training Arc deepens with this episode's focus on emotional healing over action, centering Tanjiro's efforts to pull Giyu Tomioka from isolation. Titled after Giyu's turmoil, it delivers a poignant character study amid setup for larger conflicts.

This episode leans into the drama, highlighting Tanjiro’s relentless determination to break through Giyu’s icy exterior. While the Giyu flashback might feel like a "filler" break in the action, it’s actually a vital emotional anchor that bridges the gap between them. By the end,

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 1 established the Hashira Training initiative as the Corps' preparation for a final confrontation, and this second episode immediately digs into why Giyu stands apart from the other pillars — his reluctance to participate becomes the focal point. It deepens the emotional stakes before Tanjiro fully commits to the grueling training regimen in Episode 3, making this a crucial bridge between setup and action.
