Episode Context

Following Episode 4, "Madness," where Ryo's transformation into Dante grew impossible to ignore, "Fate" is the point where the outside world stops being passive about what Ryo is becoming. Sitting at the season's midpoint, this episode marks the shift from internal horror to open warfare, with institutional forces now actively hunting what Ryo represents. It positions the back half of the 13-episode run to dig deeper into the identity crisis at the series' core, who Ryo is, what Dante means, and what price both carry.
