Synopsis
Already too good at his job for a rookie detective, Harvard Marks naturally gets assigned to the cases nobody else wants to touch. The city he works in is a crime-soaked sprawl, but it has one unusual tool in its arsenal: DECASIM, a virtual replica of reality that stores the memories of every past crime like some kind of digital haunted house. Harvard and his team can jack into this mirror world and walk through old crime scenes, picking apart clues that have gone cold in the real world. The catch is that DECASIM isn't exactly safe — the crimes left behind manifest as hostile entities called Crime Beasts, and you have to fight your way through them to get the evidence you need. The early cases seem standalone, but there's a thread connecting them that points toward something much bigger lurking underneath the city's surface. The vibe sits somewhere between detective procedural and cyberpunk exploration, with the DECASIM segments adding a layer of surreal tension to what would otherwise be straightforward investigations. If you liked the dystopian crime-solving of Psycho-Pass or the layered tech-noir atmosphere of Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, this is playing in similar territory. It's also adapted from a game, so the world-building has that lived-in, detailed quality where you can tell there's a lot more going on than what's immediately on screen. Worth keeping on your radar for 2026.
