the energy between near and mello is so interesting to me and i cannot entirely explain why. and the tv guy who genuinely does not care if he dies as long as his ratings stay high is one of the most idioticcharacter motivations this show has had in a while. absolutely nothing is normal about anyone here tbh

the series has settled into a structure where every episode produces at least one significant turning point, which prevents any installment from feeling like dead weight. the relentless pace is both its greatest strength and a potential source of fatigue when there is no longer any room left for genuine tension to breathe and develop.

demegawa is genuinely one of the most stupidly unhinged characters this show has introduced because he dgaf about literally anything except his ratings. the situation escalating at the end just stacked even more stress on top of everything. this show refuses to let you relax for even a single second and my head honestly hurts.

It still shows how L is working behind the scenes, in the face of two new brilliant characters (Mello and Near) but will they be able to really defeat Kira in this mind game?

N is living up to his reputation!
The USA being a part of the narrative is a little surprising, but seeing how we have all these new characters, I suppose it makes sense.
This new rivalry between the new characters is interesting, but it doesn't beat the L and Light dynamic :(

The USA backed down from pursuing Kira. And the majority started to believe that Kira is Justice. Light’s dream is becoming true. Mello and Near have a confrontation. Meanwhile, citizens were ready to vandalise the building where Near resides with his team. What will happen next?

The concept of justice is questioned again in this episode. The clash of beliefs becomes harsher and more direct. It feels interesting to see how the arguments start pushing against each other.

Things start shifting again when Mello passes his information to Near. It almost feels like the game resets back to square one. With new pieces on the board and suspicion slowly returning to Light, the tension starts building up again.

The episode slows down but builds quiet tension. Light Yagami regains momentum, carefully shifting suspicion and tightening control again. Meanwhile, Near patiently analyzes from afar, proving the game is far from over.

Near is starting to close in on Light. He is so calm and smart, just like L. He even tells the task force that the "new L" might be Kira! Light is feeling much pressurized now

The episode demonstrates the increasing psychological heat. The net is getting tighter. Light must recruit a new Hand of Justice to maintain his rule as the task force begins to question their leader. Mello and Sees Near temporarily team up to reveal the phony 13-day rule.

The plot is changing once more. Near has entered into this story in an active way. Light has now become Kira. The ideological clash is becoming less emotional, and more logical and objective.

Near and Mello finally cross paths and it's tense as expected. the world building around Kira's influence is actually lowkey interesting here. interesting lore bits here

Hmm don't understand this episode

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly after 'Father,' which surfaced critical revelations about the Death Note's rules, 'Justice' capitalizes on that fallout by intensifying the strategic chess match between the remaining key players. Sitting at episode 30 of 37, this is deep into the endgame stretch where alliances are fracturing and every move carries irreversible consequences. It directly sets the stage for 'Transfer,' which will push the power dynamics into even more volatile territory as the series barrels toward its conclusion.
