Dark Tours
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Fresh out of training, Rina is handed what sounds like a pretty fun assignment — lead a group of horror enthusiasts through Matsusawa village, a mountain settlement famous for its spiritual legends and ghost stories. The tour is called 'Onihime-mairi,' and on paper it's just a spooky day trip for couples and thrill-seekers who want some atmosphere. Rina's excited. Fresh start, interesting location, eager guests. What could go wrong. Turns out, quite a lot — because the male participants didn't show up for the ghost stories. The trip was planned around something else entirely, and Rina finds herself isolated in a remote village with people whose intentions she completely misread. The horror-themed backdrop isn't just set dressing here; the spiritual folklore of the village actually weaves into what unfolds, which gives the whole thing a stranger, more unsettling texture than you'd expect from a one-episode OVA. It's a dark blend of suspense and explicit content, leaning into the eerie isolation of the setting rather than ignoring it. If you've watched something like Bible Black or Discipline and appreciated when adult anime at least tries to build atmosphere before getting into the explicit material, this scratches that same itch. Studio Matrix keeps the visual tone appropriately gloomy for the subject matter. It's a single episode from 2004, so it's short and self-contained — not a commitment, just a mood.
