Episode Context

At episode 5 of 24, the series is still firmly in its character-establishment phase, building out the Nereids team's dynamics and testing Maia's place within the group following the momentum of episode 4, 'Chaka Chaka Bang Bang.' This episode appears to introduce or re-introduce a rougher, more confrontational presence that adds friction to the ensemble before episode 6, 'The Great Nighttime Manhunt / In the Heat of the Night,' escalates the stakes further.
