📖 SYNOPSIS

In a future ravaged by global warming, the Earth is largely submerged, with humanity living on floating cities and islands. Maia Mizuki, a 15-year-old orphan, aspires to join the elite Ocean Agency, the world government's paramilitary force. Despite her qualifications, she fails the entrance exams. Her misfortunes continue as she faces eviction, theft, and even a shooting.

Saved by Rena and Shizuka, members of the unconventional Nereids organization, Maia joins their ranks. The Nereids offer a variety of services, from capturing criminals to mundane tasks, often with unpredictable outcomes. The series explores themes of survival, adaptation, and finding purpose in a changing world. The "Daphne" subplot, which will become important to Maia, begins to emerge. Later, Gloria and Yu join the Nereids. The vast ocean setting, the "Brilliant Blue," is a constant backdrop to the characters' lives.
