The Scapegoat Son
Tetsu Tamba endures his father Tamba Daigoro's brutal judgment in a stark, intimidating office. His father's words carve into him, branding him a failure. Later, his brothers Shin and Inomata twist the knife, their mockery a painful echo of his father's disdain. Tetsu's frustrated rage in his own cluttered office, a desperate slam of his hand, tells us everything about his place in this world.
Ambition's Reckoning
Tamba Daigoro, the formidable leader, watches from his opulent boardroom as his Angel League efficiently harvests spirits. His son Masaki Tamba excels, driving the 'Rose Unit' to unprecedented numbers, yet there's a palpable desperation in his focus. The glow of the soul storage tank signals his success, but the warning lights flash unheeded. The tank fractures, purple energy leaks, and the once-purified souls erupt as vengeful 'Onryo', revealing Masaki's desperate ambition has birthed disaster.
The City Overrun
Life continues oblivious in the city below, maintenance workers chatting about layoffs, a quiet moment before the storm breaks. Then, the first tendrils of the encroaching darkness. A delivery man sees a flickering blue flame, which blossoms into a monstrous spirit face, his phone shattering. A van driver is blinded by another spirit, swerving into a building, as hundreds of blue flames begin to rain down.
Brotherly Plea
Masaki watches the horror from the control room, understanding his rushed process birthed the 'Onryo'. He is visibly shaken, grappling with the scale of the destruction his need for approval caused. Meanwhile, Tetsu Tamba's former boss bursts into Tetsu's apartment, finding him oblivious and defiant. He appeals to Tetsu's old duty, to the bond with his brother, eventually cracking Tetsu's cynical shell with the revelation of Masaki's quiet loyalty.
Defiance and Reunion
Masaki overhears the board plotting to make him a scapegoat, revealing the callousness at the heart of the Angel League. His father, Tamba Daigoro, publicly strips him of his rank, callously dismissing the lives of citizens. This heartless pronouncement sparks Masaki's anger and guilt, a new sense of purpose blooming in him. Tetsu then appears, chewing a lollipop stick, his casual defiance a sharp contrast to the room's tension, and he tells Masaki they will handle this mess their own way.
The Dandelion Unit Rises
Tetsu and Masaki move through the League's hallways, equipping themselves, a focused pair amidst the fleeing staff. On the streets, Tetsu shows unexpected skill with his purifying handgun, guiding a hesitant Masaki. Just as they clear a small area, a heavily armored vehicle arrives, bringing Shin, Inomata, and a
A Corrupted Giant
The spirits merge into a massive vortex, threatening to materialize a physical form, the sky bruised purple. A colossal, corrupted Angel Robot stomps into view, the League's own creation turned weapon against them. Masaki realizes his brother was right, they are fighting the very system they served. As the team diverts the robot, a girl in a black kimono, Misaki Kurogane, on a boxing kangaroo named Daigoro, arrives, punching the giant and adding an utterly bizarre, yet effective, element to the battle.
Tetsu's Leap of Faith
Masaki hands Tetsu an EMP bomb, emphasizing the one chance they have. Tetsu launches himself skyward on a small Angel Robot, as the team unleashes a coordinated beam from their new Proton Packs, forcing the giant robot to open its mouth. Tetsu hurtles into the robot's intake port, shouting 'Captain!' as he jams the EMP device into the control chip. A massive explosion engulfs the robot's head, and Tetsu falls, losing consciousness. He awakens to cheers, miraculously unharmed, seeing the peaceful, grateful spirits fade into the dawn.
Daigoro's Downfall
Tamba Daigoro watches news of the 'Tanpopo-gumi's' victory, his rage simmering, his control slipping. Tetsu, Masaki, and Misaki confront him in his office, Masaki presenting evidence of his father's corruption. Daigoro rants about the right of the strong to rule, dismissing the common people, words that drive Tetsu to tell him he understands nothing of true leadership. As Tetsu's speech strikes home, Daigoro's body contorts, consumed by his own bitter energy.
The Ultimate Purification
Masaki tries to reach his monstrous father, glimpsing a sad, tired flicker of humanity within the shadow mass before giving his brother the signal. Tetsu and Misaki launch their final attack, the boxing kangaroo Daigoro cracking the monster's shell. Tetsu climbs onto its back, finding a small, glowing point: his father's last human heart. He fires his handgun, releasing a purifying light that dissolves the monster and releases the vengeful spirits. Daigoro's frail body briefly reappears, then vanishes, leaving only silence.
