Daa! Daa! Daa!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When her parents ship off to the U.S. for work, Miyu ends up living with Kanata, a classmate she barely knows — already an awkward situation for two eighth-graders. Then an alien baby crashes through their ceiling and starts calling them Mom and Dad. That's the setup for Daa! Daa! Daa!, a 78-episode shoujo TV series from J.C.Staff that runs on a simple but genuinely charming premise: two teenagers figuring out how to raise a kid, except the kid floats, reads minds, and came from outer space. His name is Ruu, and his little alien babysitter Wannya is equally lost on Earth. Nobody can find out Ruu exists, which means Miyu and Kanata are stuck playing house whether they like each other or not. The comedy comes from the chaos of keeping that secret while managing a baby with ESP powers. The warmth comes from watching these two go from reluctant roommates to something that actually feels like a family. It's lighthearted without being shallow, and the relationship between Miyu and Kanata develops slowly in a way that feels earned rather than rushed. If you liked Aishiteruze Baby or Mama wa Shougaku 4 Nensei, this sits comfortably in that same cozy, accidental-parenthood space. It's a long run at 78 episodes, but it moves at a relaxed pace that fits the tone well.
