That was a hard battle. They did well. They all knew what to do. They never gave up. They were afraid but kept on. For one ship though, United Mankind sent a lot after the Abh.

I think it is troubling to cope with this episode. The pace is slower here. The lighting in the animation is quite shabby because it sets the mood off. Though I really enjoyed the quiet vulnerability shown.

The biggest weakness of Episode 5 is the dramatic drop in story pacing after the great climax of the previous episode.

Episode Context

Coming directly off Episode 4's surprise assault on the Gosroth, this episode escalates that confrontation into a sustained battle sequence that marks a clear turning point in the season's trajectory. At Episode 5 of 13, the series is crossing its first major threshold, shifting from world-building and character introduction into the harder realities of interstellar conflict. What unfolds here sets the conditions that will define Jinto and Lafiel's journey through the second half of the season.
