Even before the opening rolled, this episode already pushed us to the depth as we followed Clare from the previous episode. I do wonder how Clare did it, but thankfully she does, because she brought a great help here. There's also a scene at the end, a snippet of what's to come.

This episode is a masterclass in power scaling. It manages to make a "win" feel like a "loss" because of the sheer gap between our heroes and the Abyssal Ones. It’s appealing because it forces Clare to grow not through a training montage.
