Most of this episode is just to set up the events for the tension between class D and class C. The building intrigue and inner-monologue around Hirata's character makes it feel like his character will become like Kushida's.

I find the basis for this exam a little weird. Like the whole test is to see if you could guess the class leaders, but what does this exam even want to test in students?? Their ability to gaslight and lie to each other
