We finally got a glimpse of the real Horikita and phew that interaction was a breath of fresh air. She's finally free and isn't stuck up on the illusion of his "perfect brother" which made this a win episode

Episode Context

As episode 12 of 13, this lands squarely as the climactic penultimate chapter of Season 3, bringing the Event Selection Exam arc to its critical tipping point after weeks of alliance-building, betrayals, and class-versus-class scheming. The strategic groundwork laid across the season's middle stretch now pays off as key players make their defining moves. With only the finale remaining, this episode serves as the last pressure point before consequences land and the season delivers its closing statement.
