The greatest anime episode I've ever seen, more than beautiful.

The parallels, the soundtrack, the emotions, the message, the animation, the main dynamic... Simply perfect in every aspect I can name. I've never cried so much watching anything; this episode is truly the most emotional and best-constructed, in my opinion. Simply perfect, and without a doubt, my favorite episode of any series.

One of the saddest episode of any series I have ever watched. Shows Tomoya finally realizing he has not been a good father at all and finally decides to take care of Ushio. And of course, the sunflower field scene is the most poignant scene of any anime I have ever watched.

It was heartbreaking, the situation between Tomoya and Ushio becomes tragic and painful to watch. It’s devastating, one of the most emotionally crushing moments in the series.

UP: The grandmother scene is CATHARSIS. Learning Naoyuki gave up everything for Tomoya changes EVERYTHING. Tomoya and Ushio reconciling in the field of flowers? WATERWORKS. DOWN: The journey there feels slow but SO worth it. 🌻

This episode is a masterpiece of storytelling. The scenery in the flower fields is surprisingly very beautiful, the pacing is slow making the feels of every moment awesome. But seeing Tomoya finally realize how much he has missed in Ushio's life was painful.

After Story has been an emotional ride. The soundtrack softly ascends and descents. This episode is the emotional highlight of why this anime is perfect. It rightfully deserves the emotional moments. It is a feels train ride to your warmest feelings you never thought you had.

Seeing them both together made me so happy after realizing how much they've suffered and what they've had to go through before. The pacing was phenomenal; they played the slow n steady game, and it paid off tremendously as the distance between them got closer in the end.

One cannot simply skip this episode as it's crucial to see how tomoya would decide to move forward. This episode made me realize to be kind to everyone as we all go through different things. Top tier OST also, made me cry like a baby. You should prepare your tissues.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Directly following the pivotal trip with Ushio in 'Summertime,' this episode deepens Tomoya's emotional reckoning as he confronts long-buried pain surrounding his family and his role as a father. It represents the emotional climax of his personal healing arc in the back half of After Story. The episode bridges into 'The Road Home,' where Tomoya begins translating these revelations into tangible steps forward in his life.
