Continuamos donde lo dejamos en la temporada pasada, un comienzo tranquilo, donde vemos a la mayoría de personajes de la temporada pasada uniendose una vez más. La mejor parte es que no hicieron el chiste de Fuko.

It was lowkey a solid start. The animation in the baseball scenes is actually pretty fluid, and the background art is still gorgeous. It’s slow-paced, but the character chemistry carries it easily.

This episode is funny and kind of cool. They invite others to play baseball, and Tomoyo turns out to be really good at it, along with the other girls. They look happy, and it feels like the best baseball team ever.

Episode Context

As the first episode of twenty-four, this premiere serves as a deliberate tonal bridge from the original Clannad, reestablishing the cast's relationships in a low-stakes, feel-good setting before After Story begins its gradual pivot toward the post-high school realities awaiting Tomoya and Nagisa. Nothing from the prior season requires resolution here, instead, the episode banks emotional goodwill with the audience. The early stretch of After Story wraps up remaining character threads before the narrative tightens its focus on Tomoya's adult life, making this warm opening all the more significant in retrospect.
