The fake relationship setup adds tension immediately, especially knowing the reason behind it. Some guys are like this in real life and it's disgusting :3

This is where the show stops feeling “light.” Yuzuki’s confident image starts cracking, and you realize she’s actually scared

What makes this episode work is how messy the situation gets. Saku agrees to help, but it affects the entire group dynamic. Once the truth about the stalker comes out, it turns from romcom into something way more serious and protective.

Episode Context

After Episode 4 broadened the focus to group camaraderie and individual growth across the friend circle, Episode 5 deliberately narrows the lens to the Saku-Yuzuki relationship, signaling a shift in the season's priorities. Sitting just before the halfway mark of the 13-episode run, this installment functions as a pivotal setup episode, establishing emotional groundwork that will ripple through group dynamics and character arcs in the back half. It's the kind of turning point where the show transitions from introductions and lighthearted ensemble energy into more consequential interpersonal territory.
