i just love absolutely everything about taichi so much. watching both taichi and chihaya constantly thinking about arata the entire time is honestly making me think this might actually be love between them. the character dynamics in this group are just so fun to watch lowkey.

the narrative establishes a distinct tactical identity for each club member. utilizing kanas knowledge of poetry and desktomus analytical observation creates a highly functional team dynamic. this marks a distinct beginning for the protagonists growth as a well rounded leader.

I cannot believe the karuta club actually managed to do that. absolute insanity considering they just sit on the floor and slap cards all day. The pure disrespect to those track runners is crazy. way to go

This episode emphasizes that they still learning and willing to adopt new things and to be more broad on karuta sport.

This episode is another example of how everyone in the karuta club is doing their part to help Chihaya improve her game. It's really important that the side characters aren't merely on the sidelines but are integral to Chihaya's growth into a Queen. 10/10

I kinda forgot how it started, but it feels like Kana got a little “boost” iykyk 😅 There’s no intense karuta match here, but the episode focuses on each character trying to level up in their own way. Even with some downs, they support each other and it feels really heartfelt.

The pacing does slowed down, especially since everyone seemed to be training and getting ready for the next tournament. But it is fun seeing them grow and innovate according to their needs, even when most that was shown is Chihaya's progress. They really does feel like a team!

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned just past the midpoint at episode 17 of 25, this follows the Episode 16 recap and marks a clear pivot from the national team tournament arc into individual growth and personal ambitions. It establishes the specific weaknesses and goals each Mizusawa member must address, effectively setting the stage for the individual competition arcs and character-defining challenges that will drive the season's final stretch.
