Episode Context

This filler episode arrives after the two-part 'Night Cherry Blossom Route on Sumida River' arc, which dealt with a ransom scenario and a mysterious death, making this Kyoto outing a deliberate cooldown. It carries no impact on the series' long-running narrative threads. The next episode, 'The Roses in the Vineyard,' shifts back to a more serious murder investigation, so this serves purely as a palate cleanser between weightier cases.
