Episode Context

Following the standalone 'Messages From the Client' (Episode 689), this episode launches a two-part storyline that ties a present-day case to a decade-old unsolved investigation from Yusaku Kudo's career. It's the opening half, so all setup and escalation lead directly into 'Yusaku Kudo's Unsolved Case (Part 2)' (Episode 691). The involvement of Subaru Okiya alongside the core cast signals this two-parter carries weight beyond a routine case.
