Synopsis

An ordinary salaryman named Tsuyoshi Mukouda gets isekai'd into a fantasy kingdom expecting a hero, but his only skill turns out to be basically Amazon for Japanese groceries. The kingdom takes one look at his 'Online Supermarket' ability and tells him he's useless, which honestly works out fine because the royal family seemed shady anyway. So now he's a free man wandering a fantasy world, cooking Japanese comfort food with ingredients he orders from thin air. The catch? His cooking is so good it attracts Fenrir — yes, that Fenrir, the legendary divine wolf — who essentially becomes his bodyguard-slash-pet in exchange for regular meals. Even the gods start pestering him for modern Japanese sweets as offerings. The whole dynamic is Mukouda being this anxious, regular dude who just wants a quiet life, while his overpowered familiar handles every threat and then demands premium hamburg steak as payment. The food scenes are genuinely gorgeous — MAPPA animated this 12-episode TV series, and they put real care into making every dish look incredible. The tone stays comedic and cozy throughout, more about the next meal than the next battle. If you enjoyed the warm food-centered vibes of Restaurant to Another World or Isekai Izakaya but wanted more actual adventure mixed in, this hits that spot. Fans of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime will also recognize the easygoing isekai energy where the main character is weirdly OP without really trying. It's comfort food anime, literally.

The narrative thrust of this episode revolves around a local dungeon. Usually, a dungeon dive in anime means dark corridors, life-or-death stakes, and gritty combat. Here? It's basically a high-end gourmet shopping spree. Fel, the legendary Fenrir, pushes a deeply reluctant Mukouda into the cave solely because he heard the boss monsters inside taste incredible. The contrast between Mukouda's sheer, shaking panic and Fel’s casual attitude creates incredible comedic timing. Watching Fel effortlessly obliterate high-ranking monsters just to bring back pristine cuts of "Rock Bird" meat is a running gag that never gets old. While Fel provides the muscle, the absolute MVP of the episode is the adorable baby slime, Sui. This episode heavily showcases Sui's evolution from a helpless little blob into a surprisingly terrifying tactical asset. The second half of the episode shifts back to the show’s true heart: the cooking. Mukouda uses his "Online Supermarket" skill to get premium Japanese ingredients—specifically cornstarch, soy sauce, ginger, and garlic—to transform the freshly hunted Rock Bird into dynamic variations of Karaage (Japanese deep-fried chicken).
