It starts calm with Atsushi’s first assignment, then slowly ramps into serious tension. The mission feels simple at first but quickly gets intense, showing how dangerous the Agency’s world really is without giving anything away.

Oh wow, this anime is really violent. You wouldn't expect it from the first episodes, but this anime doesn't shy away from showing physical harm. An action-packed episode with some interesting twists. Perhaps a bit of over-exposition from some characters; I hate it when they talk about themselves, revealing information they already know but that the viewer needs to know. Not a huge deal though.

The whole agency seemed so soft and they were fun and hilarious. Kunikida and Dazai dynamics were really chaotic. I enjoyed once again the little bit of action scenes. Feels like reminiscing how solid the animation was and the effects that were so pretty. Kind of thankful that I'm rewatching this again. There’s a little bit of tension and the pacing is just enough for the flow of the plot.

This episode introduces the Port Mafia as the main antagonist. Akutagawa appears as a strong and dark rival to Atsushi. Their short confrontation feels intense and exciting, building tension and showing that the conflict will become more serious moving forward.

Episode 3 shifts focus to the Port Mafia’s influence in Yokohama, introducing new power dynamics and testing loyalties. While slower and less action-heavy, it quietly lays groundwork for future conflict and reveals how dangerous the city’s underworld truly is.

Ooh, introducing more characters!

As someone who loves books, the characters are intriguing since they are based on authors.

This is going great so far, I'm lookong forward for what the story can offer for us.

EPISODE CONTEXT

After Episode 2 secured Atsushi's place in the Armed Detective Agency, Episode 3 functions as the season's first major escalation point, introducing the Port Mafia and the Atsushi-Akutagawa rivalry that will drive much of the remaining conflict. Positioned early at episode 3 of 12, it transitions the series from character introductions into the central power struggle between the Agency and the Mafia, laying essential groundwork for the confrontations ahead.
