The mecha fights are so good that I have no idea if there's even any 3D animations mixed in because of how smooth it was. Also, despite the youthful appearance, we got first death already in this episode. The designs of each character, even supporting ones, are al distinct and colorful that tells effort from the animation team. But there are still so many questions to really evaluate the story since it wasn't in any rush to lore dump the viewers.
