The second half was a fun watch! Samurai ideals are challenged, but instead of being violent, Hajime tries to understand Sakamoto a little. The two seem like an unexpected duo, and Sakamoto is much less intense than how he is described.

I did like Serizawa prior to this episode.. but the story around him, and other characters thoughts about him keep shifting in a way that makes me confused. He is the most complex character though, hoping for more exploration with him and Niimi!

This episode took time to slow down and allow characters to digest all that has been going on. Hijikita's decision was unexpected but well thought out as to avoid more issues in the future.

Episode Context

Building directly on the quiet but deepening rift between Kondo and Serizawa established in the preceding episode 'A Lone Sheep,' 'Infamy' escalates that ideological fracture into a formal, structured confrontation for control of the Miburo. The internal vote engineered by Hijikata sets the organizational groundwork that will define the group's trajectory. The volatile consequences of this power struggle feed directly into the following episode, 'Firefly Glow,' making this a critical pivot point in the season's central arc.
